Arc Sidebord, design Julie Begtrup og Ditte Vad, produsent Woud

Arc er designet av designduoen Begtrup og Vad for Woud. De ønsket å lage en serie med sofabord med en unik kombinasjon mellom det elegante og det funksjonelle. Det resulterte i et borddesign som byr på et roterende, halvsirkulert lokk som gir bordet ulike uttrykk hver gang overflaten roteres. Bordet gir også rom for lagring på innsiden. Den trebrente konstruksjonen gir designet et lekende utseende, men bordet bevarer også sine flotte geometriske former.

ARC takes its name from the mathematical concept of a smooth curve joining two points in a circle. The ARC table invites its user to make use of the simple functionalities. Use one finger to turn the upper tabletop. Let it be open with your favourite objects on display or close the lid to hide your mess.

By simply rotating half of the circular lid, the expression of the table is ever changeable. The surface on the inside storage space is painted in a smooth dark grey colour to complement the ash wood while the three-legged construction adds a playful and light touch to the geometric shaped design.

The two Danish design talents studied together and found that they shared the same aesthetic sense, view on materials and expressions in their designs. With a belief that designers have the opportunity to improve the surroundings, they aim to create honest and functional designs that allows a dynamic interaction between the design and its user.
